Just got a new laptop, and it has strengthened my resolve to start writing again. A step in that direction is taking the time to start my blog properly. I am a little embarrassed by my sad, lonely entry from 2005 that has represented my so easily fallen-by-the-wayside intentions of becoming the latest writing sensation of cyberspace.
Anyway, as per my post of 2005 I am,yet again, taking time out from housework to write this. I know it seems as though I am in a constant cleaning mode - and beleive me, I feel as though this is the case - but truth to tell I haven't picked up a duster or moved the vacuum from its cupboard since the end of December. I have perfected the ability to keep the house looking clean and tidy without recourse to cleaning utensils/materials, but ever so often i.e. after 6 weeks or so, I find the dust and muss just will not respond to being pushed out of sight and/or being rearranged (don't ask!) and I have to go in search of the proper "tools for the job".
I have just spent two hours cleaning and have vacuumed the stairs, the downstairs hallway, sitting room, snug and .... thats it! I know the upstairs needs doing too, but hey! out of sight is out of mind. When I go up tonight I will not switch the lights on, thereby continuing with the 'out of sight' philosphy. Not sure how my Much, Much Better Half, aka MMBH, will feel about stumbling around in the pitch black. Hmmm, maybe I could turn it into a pre-beddy-byes game..... Yeah Baby!
What I really wanted to emphasise was that I am NOT all about housework, but for now I guess you'll just have to take my word for that.
